Abstract
The Scientific Attitude is needed to develop a scientific mindset, and it helps to deal with challenging situations in life. The central focus was to measure the Scientific attitude of backward-classes women (SC, ST & OBC) based on their different age groups and marital status. The ‘Scientific attitude scale’ developed by Shailaja Bhagwat (2006) was re-standardized by the researcher (Cronbach alpha- 0.75) and has been used for the study. 169 samples from backward classes women using simple random sampling were collected from the Murshidabad district, West Bengal. The study found that marital status (marriage and un-marriage) & age variation do not influence the developing Scientific attitude among backward-classes women. The contribution of the study was the development of rational attitude, critical thinking, and open-mindedness among backward-class women through this study.
